Documents, 2007
Installation at Foreman Art Gallery, Sherbrooke, Quebec

Osmose is the largest work I have created up to now for the Program of Integration of Arts within Architecture. Working on large-scale public projects has changed the manner in which I work. When carving plywood bas-reliefs of smaller scale, I allow the image to emerge from the wood and react to what I discover in the process. However for these projects, due to their scale, it is necessary to create numerous preliminary sketches, photomontages and models to determine in advance what the next step of the creation will be. The studies presented here in the gallery are therefore instrumental to my process. These documents enable me to map out ideas, experiment and explore various routes and make the necessary decisions for the execution of such a work.
